Acclaimed both by Poway homeowner-residents themselves and by real estate agents all over, Poway homes for sale had been a nationwide perennial favorite property by those in the know. One of the few deterrents for most people from buying all of them are their relatively higher prices compared to homes in other parts of the country.

For those who are not familiar with Poway, these homes (and other real estate properties like the condos, high-priced residential homes, equestrian and pool properties, etc.) are sought after because of the city of Poway itself.

City in the country

The one characteristic that makes Poway homes preferable over those in other places in the country is the fact that Poway CA has not lost its rustic rural charms despite being a full-pledged city.

As such, the whole place carries all the amenities and characteristics of a city (business centers, shopping establishments, art centers, top-notch schools, theaters, recreation, etc) while actively maintaining the beauty of its lush mountain views, nature trails, pristine lake and breathtaking vistas all around.

Prices of single-family Poway homes for sale start at around $400,000. Larger homes (spacious lots, swimming pools, vistas of city lights) can be had in the vicinity of $900,000.

Those elegant estates with multiple fireplaces and exquisite views all around are listed at just above $1 million to more than $4 million. These houses are usually found in areas like The Heritage and The Summit.

For larger homes in the $1 million group, Rancho Arbolitos is a good neighborhood near schools and shopping. The Palisades, adjacent to Rancho Arbolitos, had some selections of condominiums and townhouses. (As of last inquiry, they were in the neighborhood of $300,000 to $600,000.)

Larger and roomier

Poway homes for sale are more likely to be roomier than their counterparts in the other San Diego communities. Lots seem to be larger, too. (Many homeowners are horse lovers and love to ride.)

These homeowners seem to go for larger lots, larger houses, houses for their horses and enough space to breathe in the country air. This is over and above the fact that Poway CA boasts of a lower crime rate in the county, excellent schools and an enviable set of recreational activities (fishing, golf, horseback riding, trekking, etc) all year round.

Poway's more than 50,000 residents enjoy a warm, mild climate with low pollution compared to most other parts of the county (or the nation for that matter). Fortunately, the authorities had been careful in planning the city's growth and expansion with a strict eye on maintaining its present high quality of life.
